Teaching services are provided by the ND CDE staff of teachers.
Residents: $103 per semester course
Non-Residents: $111 per semester course
Handling Fee
There is a $25.00 fee per one-semester course which covers invoicing, packing, and shipping of all initial
orders as well as returning evaluated lesson work to any United States address. In addition, this fee
covers the cost of providing electronic delivery services to students enrolled in online courses.
The North Dakota Center for Distance Education reserves the right to modify by increasing or
decreasing the fee charged for any service or product.
Discounts
Discounts apply to tuition and materials as listed below. Discounts do not apply to Materials-Only
purchases.
- Orders of 5 to 19 course enrollments receive an 8 percent discount.
- Orders of 20 or more course enrollments receive a 12 percent discount.
- Students 50 years of age or older receive a 12 percent discount on all materials and fees.
Payment
Payment by check, money order, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover is accepted and must accompany the
enrollment. Please make payments payable to the ND Center for Distance Education (ND CDE). DO
NOT SEND CASH. A $10.00 fee will be charged on any returned check. When using either Visa, MasterCard,
or Discover for payment, the card number and expiration date may be faxed or telephoned to ND CDE.

order is not delayed, please make sure to include the entire card number and expiration date.
Refund
All refund requests must be pre-approved by ND CDE within 60 days of the enrollment date.
Materials returned to ND CDE must be in acceptable condition to qualify for a refund. Once the
materials are returned, the following costs will be deducted from the refund:
- A $10.00 processing fee will be assessed per request.
- A $7.00 fee for each lesson or test evaluated will be assessed against the tuition.
- A $7.00 fee for each lesson or test used or missing (other than those evaluated) will be assessed
against the cost of the Study Guide.
- No refunds are given on handling fees.
Many textbooks may be returned to ND CDE within one year of the date of enrollment for a 50 percent
refund. The book must be in acceptable condition. A course extension does not extend the one-year
period for a book refund. Returnable books are indicated by a slip attached to the inside of the back
cover. Textbooks and other materials that cannot be returned are indicated by (No Return) in the course
descriptions. Please allow one month for ND CDE to process your refund check.
If textbooks have been purchased by the school district, that information should be noted on the
enrollment form to ensure proper refund credit.
Shipping
Orders are usually filled within three business days of receipt. Alaska, Hawaii, and APO addresses are
shipped USPS Priority Mail. All other United States orders are shipped by using the most efficient means.
Please include your street address on the enrollment form.
Special shipping options are available for United States customers. They are UPS Next Day; UPS Next
Day Air Saver; UPS 2nd Day Air; UPS 2nd Day Air A.M. Delivery; and UPS 3rd Day Air Select. Please
use a MasterCard, Visa, or Discover credit card for special shipping options, or call ND CDE to make
billing arrangements.
Foreign Countries-Students living in foreign countries will be billed for the additional postage
and package insurance incurred by ND CDE for returning lessons and mailing packages overseas.
Please indicate a preference for air or surface mail. If a preference is not given, the package
will automatically be sent by U.S. Postal Service International Express. If a credit card is being used
for payment, the order amount will be adjusted to include the overseas shipping costs.
Textbooks
The costs of textbooks and other course materials are stated in the course descriptions. If the
textbook with the correct copyright date is available locally, it is not necessary to
order it from ND CDE.
USED textbooks-In order to keep costs to a minimum, ND CDE sells used textbooks with some of its
courses. The price of the textbook listed in the course description will reflect any savings.
Many textbooks may be returned to ND CDE within one year of the date of enrollment for a
50 percent refund.
