A Message from NDCDE's Director
Center for Distance Education (CDE) Friends,
During this time of great uncertainty, amid the Corona Virus pandemic, the CDE team is working hard to continue to provide high quality distance learning opportunities. We know that there will be challenging times ahead. We also know that by working together, we will all overcome these challenges and emerge stronger than we were before.
CDE has taken multiple steps to help ensure the safety and well being of both staff and students. CDE staff members have the ability to work remotely from a safe location as needed with full functionality. CDE has made available course end date extensions for students per partner school district requests along with increased flexibility of exam administrator permissions so students do not need to travel to complete their courses.
Currently, CDE has no plans to stop providing our full catalog of courses and other published services on our web site. Students may still enroll in over 350+ online courses with a highly qualified ND instructor, 365 days a year.
CDE has also diverted resources to help other state agencies and schools throughout North Dakota as they work to quickly adapt to a very different educational landscape. We are providing consultation about online instructional best practices at no fee. In addition, we are working to help districts and their teachers throughout the state gain access to quality curriculum for their students in an integrated Learning Management System.
Working together, we will overcome these challenges. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
