The North Dakota SmartLab Facilitator Training course is designed to prepare North Dakota’s SmartLab facilitators for working with students in a blended instructional setting. Students in the course will discover how to facilitate learning in a project based classroom that blends online curriculum with hands on projects. The learner will examine research in project based assessments, brain based learning, and blended learning. The learner will apply the research discussed in the online portion of the course to work one on one with younger students during a live face to face session.
About The Instructor
Matthew Lonn is currently working toward an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership through the University of Mary. Prior to this, he earned is M.S. in Educational Leadership from Concordia University St. Paul in 2013. He earned his B.S. in Social Behavioral Science (Teaching) from the University of Mary in 2004. He is currently credentialed as a secondary and elementary principal. Matthew has over 13 years of experience in education, both in traditional instruction and working with students and teachers online. Currently, Matthew serves as the Director of Statewide Programming at North Dakota’s Center for Distance Education (NDCDE).
